Mesopotamia, Nisibis. Philip II. A.D. 247-249. AE 25 (24.87 mm, 10.35 g, 12 h). AYTO[K] M IOVΛ ΦIΛIΠΠOC CEB, radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Philip II left / IOY CЄΠ KOΛΩ NЄCIBI MHT, Tyche of Antioch seated facing; above her head, ram (Aries) leaping right, head left; all within tetrastyle shrine; below, half-length river-god Euphrates swimming right.. SNG Copenhagen 240 corr. (Philip I); BMC 22 corr. (same). F, pebbly textured surfaces, brown patina with lighter deposits in recesses - apparently holed in antiquity at 9:00 obverse/3:00 reverse (hole is plugged with crusty deposits) and several spots of corrosion on reverse.
